Steps I took before starting the car-
Drained the old gas from the tank. I then refilled the tank with ethonal free gas.
I was able to use the new gas to pump the old out of the lines into a bucket.
I then changed the oil but did not change the oil filter. Where the car was sitting I could not reach. The oil was black but very good consistency.
Refilled the oil through but value cover vents.
I was able to lube all cylinders but 1 and 7. (my socket wouldnt fit in the heads)
After fuel was in the carbs the car fired right up on 4 cyclinders. Whoops, My partner in crime only hooked up the passenger side spark plug wires. It is now running on all 8

In the garage the video sound is not very good. Was rushed all weekend so didnt get to spend much time with the car.

The cars paint is unreal nice. In some photos you can see drops of water and bugs from driving and the light on at night in garage.
Now deciding what transmission I would like behind this beast.

Bitchin'!
No trans??? Do you know what gears in rear axle? Also tires size on rear... I'd be leaning towards an Over Drive myself.

It has a two speed power glide right now. I am looking to swap to a 700r4.
Rear axle has 4.11 gears in it.
Tire size as of now is 255/60R15.

Thanks for the video. That's a very nice camero. The paint is fantastic, and the engine sounds great. Will you vent the exhaust out the back end or keep as is?" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Glad you got it going! I thought after we talked the other day that what you'll need is a thinwall deep 5/8" socket, and even then you may have to take a bit off of the OD to get in those holes. Strange that two of the eight are tighter than the rest....Roger

With the 700R4's 3.06 first gear and a 4.11 differential gear, you're going to have real a stump puller with an overall drive ratio of 12.58 in low gear. That's equivalent to an old Muncie M21 close ratio with 5.71 gears. Should be interesting. Maybe even more interesting when you hit second gear under power.Last edited by Henry Rifle; 05-12-2015 at 01:48 PM.

So are you in Austin with it now? That's going to be a killer, up in Junction City knowing that it's down in Austin calling to you....Roger

The car is in Austin and I am in Juction city.
I am looking to change the transmission or the gears out. The axle is a ford 9in so the gears are easy to change. The transmission is brand new but not going into second. So need to do some research on the powerglide.
Things I plan to do now.
Check timing on motor
Cant decide if I should rebuild carbs. Starts easy with no leaks.
Figure transmission 2nd gear out
Install Brake Booster
New interior
Clean brakes up (surface rust from sitting in storage)

I would re-think the OD trans. If the R's come down too far, with the cam that's in there, the motor is likely to load up, foul plugs and begin coughin' back through the blower. That's where things are gonna get REAL EXPENSIVE, REAL QUICK. I don't know for sure, never had a blown BBC with a radical cam, but I'm bettin' that the best plan would be to leave the 'Glide in there and maybe even consider more rear gear. The only reason you might want an OD trans would be for fuel mileage and you darned sure won't get any fuel mileage with that combination, regardless of gears. If you want fuel mileage, swap in a stock 305. COMBINATION, COMBINATION, COMBINATION. Seriously, before you screw the pooch, talk with some other fellows who have this combination on the street and get their recommendations. Sounds to me like you're trying to turn a race horse into a plow horse.
"Figure transmission 2nd gear out"
The builder may have modified the valve body to a manual shift mode only, by blocking the shift valve open. If that was done, then there will be manual shifting only and whatever gear you left it in when you stopped, is the gear you start out in when you leave again. Manual shift means manual shift, up and down. Look and see if there is a vacuum line from between the blower and the carbs, to the transmission. I'm bettin' there ain't one. I don't see one in the pics.
"Install Brake Booster"
I wouldn't expect this to work out real well and would suggest an electric vacuum pump to work the booster can....too much cam, very little vacuum....

Or a complete Hydraboost system if there is a power steering system on the car.
