Info on some engines
I am new to this forum but really need some advice and knowledge
...I just bought some property and inside the shop they left two engines. Both 427's ...the guy that sold me the property said one of the engines was from a 69 corvette. So first question...I'm trying to sell them how much are they worth? Also trying to find out if the engine from corvette is a L88, if so what would it's worth be? The pole barn they were in caught on fire so both engine have melted manifolds. Thanks so much for any help you can offer.

Welcome to the forum! You might look at the drivers side of the block, just back from the head and get the numbers on the block. Post those and they will tell what you've got.Last edited by rspears; 07-31-2015 at 09:07 AM.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

as in aluminum manifolds melted? Single 4 barrel or 3 deuces? Alum heads?

Melted manifolds may place them in the range of quality scrap metal. You may need to tear them down..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

If it has aluminum heads, it could be an L88 or L89. Check the numbers on the block. I agree with firebird77. If the manifolds are melted, you may have paperweights.Jack

Seek out the numbers and alpha-numeric characters in these locations on the block.....
