Need help finding parts for a 1955 Chevy 3100 Pick up with 454 Big Block!!

    Hi everyone,

This is Mario from Switzerland. I'm a bit in trouble cause I'd like to rebuild a 1955 Chevy 3100 Pick up that has a 454 Chevy Big Block. And there are some parts I still need as: Gearbox, Front Brakes, Complete steering...Is anybody able to help me or does anybody know a specialist or company that could help me find and send the right parts?
    Thanks a lot!

Brothers Chevy & GMC Classic Truck Parts : 1947-87 Original & Custom Classic Chevrolet & GMC Trucks

This is only one of many here in the States; google "1955 Chevrolet Truck Parts", and shop til you drop.

Also look into Summitt Racing.com, JEGS, Speedway Auto Parts, Edelbrock, and others for various parts not necessarily model specific, and for performance engine parts.

As to the "gearbox", it all depends on what your preference is in transmissions: automatic, or manual (standard), and the state of the build of your 454. GOOGLE is your friend; just search any question that comes to mind, and spend some time reading and researching - there is a wealth of info out there, and if I can find it, computer challenged as I am, anyone can.

    Good luck.

Welcome! I'll throw in one more which is a great site for OEM parts - Truck Parts & Truck Accessories for Chevy, GMC, Ford & Dodge Trucks | LMCTruck.com if you're keeping it relatively stock other than driveline. Steering, another option is Flaming River Tilt Steering Columns - Tilt Key Column - Floor Shift - Tilt Key Column - Column Shift - Floor Shift Tilt Columns or IdidIt ididit | Custom Steering Columns

Mario, Welcome, I restored a '56 Chevy pickup many years ago, though not as big as the large stores I always loved Jim Carter Truck Parts 1508 E 23rd St, Independence, MO 64055 (800) 872-1913 try web site at Classic Chevy Truck Parts, New, Used Pickup Parts, Jim Carter Truck Parts
I bought tons from him and years ago, he could even set you up with used parts as well (many years ago, don't know today) The guy always amazed me as if I remember he took some sort of memory lessons and memorized all his inventory, pricing, addresses (before computers) and names which is a big plus when your building a old vehicle! Great to have you here!
Why is mine so big and yours so small, Chrysler FirePower
