A 454 is no different bud. A "strong runner" also means you can actually drive it, stop it, idle in traffic on a 90 degree day and not be fixing or replacing something every time you get it out of the garage...
I would suggest putting some glasspacks on your 6 and have fun with it as is. Otherwise the car will get torn apart and you'll end up selling it out of frustration. Been there done that.
