Looking for info on Winters BBC Alum. Heads...Please help.
I have a set of Winters Foundary big block aluminum chevrolet heads on my car and I want to find out more about them. They have the snowflake on them with the W in the middle. I would really like to know when they were offered and in what? As Far as I understand they were a dealer option for some time. Any info on these would be great.
Thanks

Casting numbers would help.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Like Bob P says we need casting no.s. Winters did the casting on most of Chevrolet aluminum parts. Heads, intakes etc. The heads were available as Open and closed chamber and the intakes were available in several different designs thru the years. Some of these parts were factory OEM and some were dealer installed. It depended on the situation.

I got the casting #'s
Its 14011077
On MorTec's site I found this:
"14011077...69-up...rect...OPEN...Aluminum, fits MKIV, "C-port"
118cc chamber, also sold as a "solid" head"
any more info then this would be great.
I really want to know what if any cars these came on. I would love to know what the factory spark plug for these was. I would like to know what they are worth. Someone told me they were worth $3,000, sounds like a lot but I guess they were pretty rare. 69-up? well till when? like I said any thing else you could tell me would be great.
Thanks Alot

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
