    502 Ramjet Tuning

Hey Guys, Have a 502 Ramjet in my 80 series Landcruiser. Seems as though it needs a tune, have read that from factory these motors have a "Boat tune" as they are most commonly used in boats it likes to run on the rich side and seems to only rev just past 3000 RPM while in gear but will rev to 5500 in neutral.

How are people tuning the 502 Ramjet, with the MEFI system? or going aftermarket EFI Systems?

    Cheers.

Welcome to the forum! Your question made me curious. Looking at dialog out there it seems that your MEFI system is Marine specific, so I expect that's your problem. I think you'll find a lot more info on the Chevy specific sites, like ChevyTalk or ChevroletForum. Here's a link to one line of discussions on the 502 Ramjets (note it's old so there's likely more up to date info out there) talking about the issues with the ECU and other options - https://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/s...hp?tid/136552/
