427 Tall deck build up
Can anyone help.
I just bought a 427T out of a big truck to build up and install it in my 55 Chevy. I have been told the pistons have a .400 height icrease on they which will limit the engine to under 4500 rpm so I was told to put 6.535 rods in it and stock 427 pistons. I have found the rods but can't find a piston to run with the heads I have with the head cast #3856213. I was going to get larger valves installed and run them with a weiand intake don't know what cam. Has anyone built a 427T for the street that will run up over 4500 rpm. Can you give me a list of parts used and est. of the power out put. I have also looked at the stroker kits for the engine but I was also told the engine will not take a 4.50 stroke or bigger.

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
