    Question bbc engine code

     



    i have a bbc suppose to be a 402 the id # on passenger side front pad is ce171110 and the last 0 is underlined.i bought this motor already built and broke in.i just want to know exactly what i have. thanks for any help

    The "CE" stand for crate engine. Whoever owned the very first car it came in probably blew up the original engine and the dealership put that one in as a replacement. The best way to find out what you have is by the casting numbers on the block itself.
