    Question Simple engines

Hey guys, im new in this forum and to the small block. I just pruchased an 85 c-10 pickup, it seems to be the last carburated small block chevy made so it has wires and hoses all over the place. When i think of a small block i think of 8 cylinders and the essentials for it to run. Ive seen over and over many clean and simple engine bays, I know mine can look the same, many of the things there are emission stuff. My question is how do i get that simple engine bay?

yep, itll depend on your local laws. Actually, removing emissions devices is against the law in all states, due to federal law, however, only some states, and sometimes only some areas of some states inforce emission laws.
where I live, a 19854 1/2 ton pickup gets a visual inspection for emissions devices during the safety inspection(sometimes these devices are overlooked, helps to have a few buddys who are inspectors ) the vehicle also gets run on a treadmill & tests for exhaust emissions while on the tread mill. Oh yea, & the gas cap test LOL. We are currently trying to kick the company that runs the emissions tests out...its a huge scam. John

I was aware of the fact that its illegal in some states to remove these things, but i eventually plan on making it a show truck so im not really worried about it. Now i guess my question is what can i remove and still have her running right?

Well basically....all of it. Just take it all off including the ECM and it's harness, the cumputer controlled distributor and the computer controlled carb and stock intake. You will need to keep the temp sensor for the guage and you can leave the others there to plug the holes or replace them with plugs.

Put on an Edelbrock ect intake and a Holley or Edelbrock carb and a pre computer HEI and you are ready to rock. Oh. dump the cat converter too and put on real duals.
