    Question pulley sizing

     



    Whats the approx size of a small block water pump pulley?Or should I use the biggest 1 I can fit on there ?

    Just get the one that fits your water pump (long or short).

    As a side note, there is a dual groove water pump pulley that has 2 different diameters. It must be used with a crank pulley that also has 2 different diameters. The larger pulley groove is for the alternator to overdrive it to maintain output at lower RPM.

    THnx all!! I just went and measured 7 inches.I just thought it was a little close to the crank pulley ,theres only about the width of a nickle between em.
    Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

    The pulleys are pretty close. There's about 5/16" between the pulleys on my motor.
