    mystery 350

Can anyone tell me what kinda 350 I have?
I was given a 350 from a friend, he said he thought it was out of a 70's blazer?? I took the oil pan off, and discovered its a 4 bolt main block, yay!! the only numbers I can find are around the cam hole in the front. top right, 512. top left, 010. bottom right G32, bottom left, 776 and 509. it has a .010. 9 on the side, and a 40 over where the fuel pump goes. The head serial number is 3888338. does that make any sense??

Well, you know it's a four bolt Chevy. Now go to the belhousing area, on the drivers side, on the belhousing part of the block, there will be a CAST in number, usually seven digits. Go to Mortec and it will list the approximate years the block was used.

338 heads were used from 71-76.

Just average heads. MOST, if not all, are for the old leaded gas and need hard seats installed. You would be better off with aftermkt heads.
