no oil pressure when hot unless on the gas
i have an 88 camaro with a 2.8 i know camaro really shouldnt have a v 6. well back to the question. when i start it the oil pressure is about 80 then after about 5 mins. it goes to 20 the farther you go the more it drops pretty soon you have to hit the gas all the time to have any oil pressure what could be the problem i think it is the oil pump but i dont know really hopefully someone will know for sure.

sounds to me like you have a high oil temp....alot of upper cylinder friction can cause this as well as a loose fit lower end...first I would check pressure with another guage....if your going off the dash mounted gauge I would replace the sender unit.....
Are you using good oil or cheap oil..... differnt brands of oil do tend to differ heat better than others.....

Well, if your due for an oil change, theres an Easy way to find out if its due to you cooking your oil. Grab a bottle of STP oil stabilizer. Available at your local advanced auto and Family Dollar. Blue bottle, $2.50. Add it to your oil when the car is warm. If ou notice an immediate increase in oil pressure, its probably your oil is thinned out. if you notice a slight or No increase in oil pressure, you either have a flow blockage or a bad pump. Hope this helpsRight engine, Wrong Wheels

As for the 700R, its a possiblity. You may want to check your tranny cooler. If your motor sems especially sluggish, chances are your shifting is due to inability to gain pressure in you tranny pump. This will cause erratic and delayed shifting. If you find your tranny cooler lines are especially warm, this may be an indicator of improper flow. Also something to look for.Right engine, Wrong Wheels
