    What's my vacuum

I have a chevy 400. I don't know all the specs on the motor because I just bought it. I put a vacuum guage on it it's very steady at 23 in. is that good ? I left my shop manual at work!

    Thanks
    Ralph

Does that mean it has a mild cam?

If you're talking 23 inches at idle I suspect it's a stock cam. With that kind of compression you don't have a lot of overlap between the intake and exhaust.

yep she's a stocker....but thats a strong economy cam...I'd stick with it....with that kind of vacuum reading it's showing your engine is pretty efficient......
