    engine noise #2 cylinder

I have a 66 chevy II with a 69-79 350. whenever i start the car there is a tapping noise coming from the passenger side valve cover. I pulled the #2 spark plug wire and it stops. The car has a mild solid cam with solid lifters, and 305 60cc heads. I had the lifters adjusted but the noise didn't stop. when i drive the car the noise doesn't go away it just gets faster.

If you have any ideas that would be appreciative.

I had a 350 69 model one time I had bought and it had the similar problem you have,I thought it was a lifter at first but my noise would get a little louder under a load, come to find out I had a broken piston skirt.
