    327 CSB with a 350 turbo trany

     



    ok, I bought a 1966 chevy malibu with a 327 chevy small block and it needed a new trany, i sure it is possible to put a 350 turbo trany on it but not sure if i have to buy anything else, like vacuum lines or anything like that, CAN ANYONE HELP?

    you'll need the vac. line like denny said but you will also have to hook up a passing gear cable to the the carb. also. you didnt say what kind of trans you was taking out but i would guess a powglide. you can buy the bracket fron most any hi-prof. store.

    k thanks guys, i don't think i said this but this is my first car, and i'm 17, umm... also i was working on it today, and i took off the pan to the trany, and i noticed that there was this cable on the left side of the trany that was cut, i'm pretty sure i need it but i don't know wut it does, agian, ANYONE?

    its on the right and its the kick-down cable or the passing gear cable if you are working on the 35o trans.

    ok but i sure its not the gear cable, my auto shop teacher didn't even know wut it was, it slides into the trany like a vacuum line but again it was cut, i don't know, lol

    Classic_4_LIFE when you talk about a car , to a parts man or who ever you go by, if you are sitting in the drivers seat driving the car. the drivers side is the left side and the passanger side is the right side, always. remember that and that will save you a lot of trouble in the future.

    belive me Classic_4_LIFE on a th350 trans you have the shift linkage on the left side and dip stick and passing cable togother on the right front of the trans and the modulator, a can looking thing at the back of the trans. if your dhop teacher dont know that he shouldnt be teaching auto. repair.

    ps when most junkyards pull these trans they usely cut these cables to save time.

    most any parts store has them. dont put the pan back on untill you get one. what kind of intake and carb do you have?

    i have a 2bl carb, i'm not sure bout the intake, i pretty sure its stock lol

    the picture of that kick down cable looks alot differt from the cable i found, u know the end of a vacuum line? well the part u slide into that vacumm, theres that and then just a normal black cable that goes about a foot and then its cut
