How much should I expect to pay for a junkyard 350?
Gonna head to the 'yard in awhile and see about getting a 350 to use as a winter build project.
What is the going rate for a 350 pulled from a junkyard? I expect to pay a bit more for an engine that I can hear running...
Thanks.Drog

I realize by now you have already got your engine, however I wanted to let you know I bought one last Sat. It was on a shelve and they claim it ran, we'll see. Anyhow I paid $400.
Hope this makes you feel better!

I'd say Doc Bowtie is pretty close, give or take. $500 or less runnin'. Maybe a bit more depending on miles, shape, model. $100 for a core short block, maybe more depending on what is still on it, valve covers, oil pan, intake, accessories. I've seen pretty good, running 350's go for under $500, so you might shop a little and look in your local classifieds, quik quarters, etc...

I bought a 350 block and heads from a '76 Corvette for $175 when they replaced it with a rebuilt 383 but they moved just about every bolt from the 350 to the 383 and I am still buying little parts like bolts and assorted tin.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
