    Supercharging a 350

Ok, I'm from Scotland, so if I appear stoopid forgive me.

I've got a 350 sbc in my Nissan 200sx, it runs with a thm 200c, I'm looking at some point to supercharge the engine, - a 1989 L98? out of a corvette, it has alloy heads, cast block and running a 750 vac secondary carb.

Basically, what is the best book for reading up on what I'm thinking of doing?

Is my basic set up adequate in the opinion of the peeps on here - ( I also have another sbc from a corvette but needs rebuilt and has cast heads).

I'm keen on the Idea of a Wieand kit, is there another possibly better kit? I'm looking for a fairly straight forward installation.

Thanks in advance, if you can point me in the right direction.

I intend to use the car for street and the odd 1/4 mile run.

You can get centrifical units from Procharger and Vortech. As for a roots style, my preference is Eaton M112 from Magnacharger. It allows you to use the factory fuel injection system (injectors, fuel rails, electric pumps, etc.). This is the unit I'm using on my Gen III small block.

If you do supercharge the engine you will need to go to a TH350 tranny or better, that 200c won't hold up very long.

From what I can gather the 200c , although not the strongest transmission in the world, will do up to a point - I reckon myself a thm 350/ 400 would probably be required before long anyway.

Is it necessary to go for the uprated rods (petter/carillo),(I had planned in getting TRW blower pistons anyway - or would this be un-necessary?

Any books you peeps can recommend would be helpful.

yeah its a good idea to upgrade the bottom end a little bit when supercharging... but isn't neccisary.... i'd do it anyways... be a shame to spend a buncha money on a supercharger kit, get it all setup and then throw a rod
