    Restore '58 chevy engine or NEW 350 engine

     



    What do you guys think i should do buy a new engine for my 58 chevy pick up or restore the old engine i really want some power and i dont kno how this old engine is gonna perform im tryin to find a good engine to fit this truck too so if you could help me that would be great thanks alot

    All depends what you have for an engine. Either a 283 or 348. If you have the 348(just my opion) I would keep it , although the 283 were nice engines too. It's really what you perfer.

    I agree man. I mean we really don't know much about what you got now. For all I know it's a 235 I6 and a three on the tree. What kinda tranny you got nad what are you tryin' to do with the truck? Do you want a hot rod or a driver, a work truck maybe? Nothin' wrong with a new motor, but depending on your intentions something else may work just as well.
