SCAT 4340 2-IRC5700 Rods ?
Im starting to asemble my 383 an i have a set of SCAT 4340 2-IRC5700 Rods. They are bushed. The ? is should they just slip over the pin and be able to spin them or should the have to be forced in. All of mine had to be forced in, almost pressed in. The postons i have are SpeedPro flat tops with the C-clips to hold the pins in. The pins go into the pistons prety easy wich is normal i beleave.383 , Time for heads

ok, talked to the shop i got the stuff from. They are saposed to be slip fitbut he said they will more than likely be tight at first. If there to tight to give them a tiny light 1 rev wipe with soem 320 emery cloth 1 time on each side . So i did and there perfect now. I got the complete bottom end done. Just have to get a degree wheel take care of that stuf throw the pump and pan on and then the heads. All clr checked out good. Should be back in the camaro ina week or so.383 , Time for heads
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
