lifter plunger
I'm changing the cam on my 76 monte carlo. and I get to the lifters, the plunger snap ring is .20 of an inch down in the lifter bore than the stock gm lifters. The guy I bought it off of said I don't need longer pushrods to take up the slack. Has anybody delt with this problem before?

push rod
If you think push rod lenth is maybe incorrect you can check by ass. motor and ajusting the valves ( the correct way). Pull plugs out , rotate crank, and watch rocker arm as it sweepes your valve. The rockerarm tip should stay in the center of valve tip through the intire lift, now if it's inboard you will need longer push rods- maybe .100 longer in lenth and visversa if ther on the outboard of valve tip> hope this helps you out!!

The cam I'm useing is a 204 214 duration and 420 442 lift at 107 117 centers. The plunger is .20 of an inch or .200 or 1/5 of an inch down in the lifter bore
