    oil leak

Got in a little while ago I was running it pretty hard. I parked and I notice I developed quite an oil leak. It only seems to leak when I run the piss out of it. and it's all over the lower part of the motor. It even pooled a little bit on top of the water pump. The wettest part is on the fuel pump. I checked around the gasket and it doesn't seem to be leaking around there. It was all down the backside and underside of the pump. Is it possible for oil to get inside a fuel pump? I thought maybe the front seal there by the balancer but it doesn't seem to wet behind there.

would there be enough oil pressure to spray oil out of front intake gasket at high speeds?

I had the same problem on my 69 camaro

G'day mate, the problem is probably as simple as a hole in the block that hasn't been plugged,as there is 2 holes on the passenger side on the front of the block right next to the fuel pump the top hole should be plugged,if not thats your problem as my camaro did the same thing and nobody could tell me what the problem was, until finally I figured it out by myself.
    hope this helps ya out.

I think Mick has put his finger on the problem.

some fuel pumps have a little breather hole in the top of them,,about the same size as a panneling nail diameter,,,if you have excessive crank case presssure,,and the fuel pump body is an offcast,,,it can come squirting out of that hole under heavy load,,it will come in behind the actuating lever,,and through the body of the fuel pump,,,some gaskets will allow the oil to pass through,,,,,haven't seen this phenominon in years,,but i used to see it happen.

I think I know what you're talking about with those holes in the front. I probed them with a small screw driver but it doesn't feel like it's open but I can't see in there so I don't know for sure. I know what these holes are. They're the mounting holes for the air pump assembly. Does that top hole have oil flowing throw it and around it? I believe that and the leaking intake manifold is where the oil is coming from.

That hole goes all the way to the inside of the cast area where the pump rod is. It's open and oil WILL squirt from it.
As you probably already know, it can make a big mess.
Like you said, it does it after you have dogged it a bit, as the pump rod rides on the cam it can pump the oil. This keeps the rod lubed in it's journal. If the bolt is removed the oil has to go someplace so it take the path of least resistance.
Get a new bolt about 1/2" long, add some sealing tape or paste and thread it in.

It may simply be the fuel pump, have seen several of em leak at the weep hole on the pump, My big block Alky motor usta do that, a couple different fuel pumps yielded no results, so we would rap the pump with shop towls & duct tape untill a company called "Seals-it" came up with a fix......
