    Equus temp sensor

Just bought an Equus temp sensor but the sensor doesn't fit in my 305 heads. The sensor goes in first and then theres a nut that follows. The nut fits fine but the sensor doesnt stop in the head it just goes all the way in. Is there an adapter or something I am supposed to install into my head first?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

dcutis, there is a "seat" for for your to screw your senser bulb into, that would go in the head first. should have been with the kit.

Thanks for your info, found a adapter kit at O'Reillys with the fitting I needed along with 4 other for differant head types I guess. It costed 6 bucks.
