    383 Stroker

I was wondering if anyone can explain to me the difference between a 350 and 383 Stroker?

    The 350 has a 3,48 stroke. the 400 has a 3.75 stroke. Put a 400 crank in a 350. I think you have to bore the 350 .030. and You have a 383

    Right on the money, Gene.

Damien, there are also aftermarket manufacturers (such as Scat) of the 3.750" stroke crank. If using an OEM Chevy 400 crank, the main journal diameters have to be turned down from 2.650" to 2.450" to fit in the 350 block, but the aftermarket cranks are manufactured with the 2.450" mains, so they are a "drop-in".

Hey Damien_63 look though all the posts that talk about the 383 stroker in small block chevys, thats where I got all my info on them. You can also call your local speed shop and asked them questions about diffrent products they use, and what works better, to get an idea of how it actually all goes together.

If You're thinking about a motor for you C 10 You might also consider a 406. They have tons of grunt ( torque)
