Engine Swapping
Hey guys me and my brother are working on a 93 chevy pickup with a tbi setup and its a 305, but we were thinking about switching it to a 350, but we were wondering what we would need to switch for the swap. We would apperciate all the advice and tips guys. Thanks guys

nothing as long as you use the TBI unit of the 350
the 305 and 350 use different size injectors...
pretty much after that it's an even swap

had a friend just do the same thing and they didn't change anything. I told them they should change the ecm and injectors but they didn't, I'm suprised it even runs. Does set all kinds of codes though. He swore at me thta it it had to be fi cause it had vortec heads. I told them they should've kept it carberated

just did same swap on 88 chev truck-perfect swap-- all you need to change is throttle body and prom from ecm -other than that its a exact swap---big power difference tooIF IT AINT BROKE TRY TO FIX IT ANYWAY

What's a prom? It's from the ecm?

prom is---- programmed read only memory--- its the chip inside the ecm that contains the operating program for the powertrain--the ecm from the 305 is the same part # as the ecm for the 350 the only difference is th prom chipIF IT AINT BROKE TRY TO FIX IT ANYWAY
it's nice to have space, I just keep moving stuff to only move it again and again and again!
