Engine Rebuild
hey every1, i'm new to this forum but hopefully a few of yall could help me out. My father owns a 1972 Chevrolet MonteCarlo, it has a 350 smallblock with a 4 barrel carb (he replaced the engine back in the 70s i guess) anyways i'm 15 and he plans to give it to me and when i get it i want to rebuild the engine to restore better daily driveablity. So my question is how much would it usually cost for a good rebuild for a smallblock 350. I was just wonderin' so i would have a goal set for how much money i'll need to save up.
~ thanks in advance

Might want to check at your local chebbie dealer on the price of a crate motor. With the price of machine work and quality rebuilding components, sometimes a crate motor comes out cheaper. Plus, most come with a warranty.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

You might not have to do a complete rebuild.
Like Dave said - I've seen budget crates for $1600.

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
