Thread: 350 Burping and Farting

I just put a 350 into a truck of mine.. Im having problems with the truck backfireing out of the exhaust and flaming out of the carb.. The timing is set at 8 degrees and the carb was just rebuilt today. The motor has sat for 5 years, it was running when Foose had it... For the timming mark I had to time it 180 out.. on the number 8 plug wire.. It runs really strong just when it starts and when it shuts down.. through the carb when it starts and the exhaust when shuts down... Oh when in gear it will stall... Sorry so winded.. RIck Primo

if its timed 180 out on #8 wire it shouldnt be running as good as you say. what kind of timing is that?

ps if you have the timing marks on your HB at 0 degrees then the only choices you have in the cap is #1 OR #6

I think that I should pull the dist. and try to drop it in again.. I hate doing machanical work..
