750cfm too much for a stock SBC 350???
I have a NIB Edelbrock 750 cfm Carb and want to find out if this is to large for a mild 350. Yes/No, any suggestions. Thanks

Bolt it on and try it. Theory says it's a bit large, but every engine is different.

Think of it this way, if you stay out of the secondaries, it's only 375 cfmPLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

Throttle response would be better with a smaller carb (650 Edel) but your BSFC maybe better with that 750....never know till you try...

Even if you never get into the secondaries, that has nothing to do with it. Larger carbs require better stronger vacuum signals from the engine to operate smoothly. That's why big cams are tough on the street because they produce a weak vacuum signal thus leading to improper air/fuel ratio.
Sure you can put that 750 on, I had a 780 Holley on my 302 and it ran fine. Little boggy on the bottom but ran like raped ape on the top end. (hence the poor vacuum signal at lower rpms) Also putting that large of a carb on there may cause you to adjust the secondaries for proper idle/operation aswell.
But they are right, a 550 or 600 cfm carb would probably be your BEST option for all around drivability. I know when i went back to a 650 Holley on the 302, I gained more bottom end back and the power band was much broader.Dan Ouellette

Stock, yes 750 is to big. You will be able to drive the car fine, but for a stock 350 and even if it had some mod's done, a 650cfm is going to give you the best performance.Chevys for life

if its a stone stock run of the mill 350, it wont be revin past 5000 RPMS. If it were mine my first choice would be a Q-jet...my second choice would probably be a Road Demon Jr. 525.75 GMC C-15 factory 454, automatic, lowered
