    Harmonic Balancer

New subscriber here and need some help. I put a 350 4 bolt main short block in my 64 vette about 15 years ago. I didn't have the engine accessories, so I scrounged brackets etc all from junkyards and swap meets. One of my problem areas is with the harmonic balancer. Its an 8" and is needed (I think) to keep all the belts aligned. The timing line doesn't show up on my timing light. I am not sure what to do. I know there are tapes and other stuff to apply to a balancer, but would rather buy a new or remanufactured unit.

    Harmonic balancer

No the engine is 0.01" over rebored block with stock components. I'm sure it wasn't balanced. It appears to me that the line on the balancer is straight up withe the motor at top dead center. Vettes use a short water pump so I can't see the line. If I get someone the block numbers could they tell me what the motor was out of? I bet it was a pickup motor. What a pain in the behind. Live and learn. I wish I'd just put in a crate engine.
