stock 350 heading in
I have a stock GM 350 from the late 80's -early 90's sitting on the engine stand right now. I believe it has somewhere around 190-200 HP. The current carb is a holley around 600CFM. What could I do to trick it out and bump the HP to maybe 3-4 hundred, without spending a limb and an eyeball?Last edited by Damage Inc.; 06-19-2005 at 11:44 AM.

The late 80s and up blocks should accept a roller cam, which is a big improvement over the earlier flat tappet types. It should also have the one-piece rear seal to eliminate leaks.
First, I would check the condition of your short block. Can it be freshened or will it need need a rebore? There's no sense putting a lot of money in bolt-ons if the internals aren't up to more power.I intend to live forever; so far, so good.

go through this list and pick the motor you want to build, then add up all the parts and estimated machine work (plus assembly costs if you can't do it yourself). Then you'll know where you stand....
