    Question Headers glowing red

Only one side of my headers are glowing red. (The passenger side) What could cause this? We have done more than enough work to this car and we have a problem every time we turn around. This car is a daily driver. It's got a 383 Stroker w/nos. It use to have a supercharger, but no more. We had a chip burned for it when it did. Should we get a stock computer put back in it or what? We've heard it's running too lean AND too rich. Should we be running high octane fuel in it? What's the deal?? Help please!

    Thank you,
    HotRodHoney

It sounds like the timing is retarded.

check that timing like MI2600 said, but a step up in jet size want heart anything either. the ? is why 1 side if its timing or running lean. id rather have it a little rich than lean though.

I'm pretty sure my timing has always been retarded...

The passenger side is running rich, too much fuel. Check for vacuum leak along intake manifold. It could be on the driver side indicating engine is too rich and drivers side has a leak leaning it out on that side and keeping headers normal color. If carbureted check for plugged jet or leaking power valve. Check gasket under carb for leaks, check any intake fittings for leaks. It's not likely timing by itself because 1/2 the engine cannot be retarded while the other side be properly timed.
