Dipstick Dilemma
The motor i bought has the drivers side dipstick hole plugged. On the passengers side there is a little chunk of metal bolted to the block with a hole in it which is for the dipstick. My question is, do i have to buy a pre 79 dipstick or a 80 and later?

I don't think it matters. However, if it bothers you, I would put the normal amount of oil (4+ one for the filter) in and see what it registers on the stick.I intend to live forever; so far, so good.
