Emissions
The 307 to 350 swap is coming up real soon and I was wondering what I need to do as far as getting rid of some of the old emission systems. There is the charcoal can in the front and some of the other systems, but what problems might arise with removing some of the old stuff? What vital systems tie into the emissions? Also, what needs to be done as far as PCV goes? My dad wasn't sure what people are doing nowadays. He used to be a mechanic but hasn't touched anything in about 15-20 years.1973 Chevy Nova

A lot depends on how original-looking you want your final result to be. I try to keep at least semi-original and I've kept the charcoal canister on my '72 and '86. It doesn't hurt anything and it may aid in the venting of the fuel tank. Some of those fuel tanks have/had 3-4 lines running to them and I don't want a collapsed tank because it wasn't vented.
I'm not sure what you meant by "some other systems". Can you clarify?I intend to live forever; so far, so good.

Well i already removed my manifolds which had the air injectors. I don't plan on putting the air pump back on. I'm just wanting to know what all i can eliminate.1973 Chevy Nova

Before removing all the smog stuff, you might want to consider if you have to pass emissions testing. While I'm not required here, but I'm led to believe some states have a "visual" inspection which you would flunk if the correct equipment is altered or missing. You might want to check.
If you're not restricted by that, you can safely dump the smog pump and those lines to the exhaust manifolds. You could also dump the EGR (if so equipped) and all the vacuum lines associated with it.I intend to live forever; so far, so good.
