Angry help! engine wont turn off

i have a 1971 nova pretty much stock, i installed a stero and the car has been running fine...but just recently i went to turn the car off and the engine kept running, ive had the stero in like 2months before this started to happen though. ... i called a couple mechanics ... one said the Neutral Start Switch, another one said replace the ingition switch...i replaced the Neutral Start Switch and nothing happened ... now before i go out and buy something else i want to get a couple people that are smarter than that mechanic, ive just been choking the car to turn it off. So if you have ANY ideas PLEASE REPLY !

I could use a little more information, it could be a feed back problem or a key switch problem. when you shut off the key do your alt light, and your oil pressure light come on ? when you" choke it" to kill it does the oil light come on?

Had a buddy with a 65 Impala with the same problem turned out to be one of the small wires on the starter was just loose enough to move and touch the pos battery cable at the starter....... took us about 1/2 a day to find it......and of course we started inside

How about the capacitors in the stereo amps acting as power supplies? do you have a big amp or amps in the stereo system?
