    fuel pump leak?

i have a 70 chevy pickup. it recently started running rough. I noticed that the buttom of the fuel pump has what appears to be wet with gas.
Any ideas if that could be the indication of the problem?

if so, any ideas on fixing it?

Change the leaking pump, but it shouldn't make the engine run rough, you've got other problems. Define "Rough".

    defining "rough" running:

the engine lopes is not smooth, like it stutters. as if it was not running on all cylinders.

Do a compression test. Plugs and wires my first guess, cam going away worst case scenario.
