rocker problems
i had a strange tick that was getting louder on my motor.. i took the valve cover off and my one rocker was almost hanging off the valve... so i checked it and the pushrod was bent so i put another one in and it ran for a bit then jumped off to the side...i looked a little more into it and there was notch worn into the stud almost half way through... then i found another rocker where the top of the valve touched the rocker the was a perfect hole in the rocker where the valve tip stuck through....i have no idea what may have caused this.. the motor was all rebuilt and the heads were too....there 305 heads on my 350,cam is 480 lift with 228 duration...i found a couple more studs that had a little wear on the sides so the rocker wasnt running straight on the valve tip...i pulled the one stud outta me head and put one in from another head (there press in) but i'm not sure what to do...i was thinking about using roller rockers...they wont dig into the studs at all and will stay straight...any ideas?

It sounds like the rebuild, possibly they did not match the rockers and pushrods. I have had very rapid wear under those circumstances.
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
