350 chevy boring
could anybody tell me what an older 350 chevy can be bored to because i have a 350 bored 0.60 and needs to be bored again i heard that some of them can be bored up to 0.80.any help on the 350 0.60 to 0.80 would be grately appreciated.

yes you can go .080 but I would get sonic test first.

Check for core shift before going to 80 over. The holes in the motor mount bosses, etc., must be dead center on the bosses if there's no shift. Kind if a poor man's sonic test.

why do you need to take it to .080? if you like it at .060 then why don't you just find another one? they aren't hard to come by...

350 blocks are everwhere. go to your local junk yard or a core shop and pick one up to be re worked. the block should be about $150.Chevys for life

ckecking for core shift is giong to only tell you the left to right
and the up and down phisics of a motor not the forward and backwards core shift also core shift at the cam is not good because you will have the shadow effect as you get farther away from the cam things can get worse or better depending on the casting.
Great to see your new post, Mike, and great to see CHR up and running again after several days of the Hmmm, can't reach this page.... Also good that you found an easy solution to your storage/access...
