now i know!
there has been a lot of talk here on whither you could put a TB off of a 305 on a 350 and make it work, there was a guy a few weeks back that had done this and it wouldn't run and some people told him that was the reason. i didn't think so, but i didn't know so i didn't say anything. i was at a shop yesterday that pulled a late model 305 out, and replaced it with a late model 350, using everything off of the 305, cranked it up and it and drove just like the 305. they say they do that a lot of times, with no problems. this was a daily driver and want never see a drag strip, but for the st. there is no dif. they told me the junk yard don't check to see if its a 305 or 350 they just send any SBC motor they have in stock and you use what ever FI that's on your motor. IM talking stock 1986 up. IM sure you can build so much HP into it this wouldn't work, but under no conditions would it keep it from running.Mike

I think the injector size is different from 305 to a 350....I know for sure the sizes are different from a 4.3 to a 350....I have done that 305 to 350 swap a bunch...
Denny..... on that van did you change the ecm or the prom chip....I have a 89 Astro with a 4.3 that I have a 350 crate motor (for 89 truck) I plan to install in the van....I also have the ECM that I was just going to swap proms....?
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
