350 emissions
I own a 79 GMC Jimmy with a 350 and a rochester carb, no cat, but it has all the 1970's emission garbage vacume hoses still attached. I want to install cats on the dual exhast and strip all the vacume hoses that are not nessessary. If I do this would I have a prayer of passing emissions? I am also considering changing out metering rods to make it run a little leaner.
Any advice is welcome.
Thanks,
jeff

In Arizona, there is a visual underhood check to see that all the garbage is in place. Check with your DMV to see if there is such a check for OEM components.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

we dont have to pass a test here, but the stuff has to be there. to pass a test i would think you would have to have the whole ball of wax. conv. air pump and egr valve all hooked up. if you have some test to pass, having 2 conv. on a gm is as bad as not having one at all. its want pass with 2 conv., next ? is if you dont have a test to pass why would you put 2 conv. on anyhow? just asking.Mike

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
