350 engine?
hi guys im new here and i have a 1986 chevy k10 pickup with a stock 305 vin code "h".. i am looking to put a 350 in but there seems to be a ton of different ones by vin codes. what year or vin code is the best for me to use or has the most power. this isnt gonna be a race truck but used to commute to work and back and then plow in the winter.

dont worry about the vins, theres nothing there,if you just want to put a 350 in it, itl bolt right up, ive got a 383 in my S10 i checked around about the Vins, they tell you what they came out of and the date it was cast, thats about it man

they also tell you if its a 2 or a 4 bolt main block. but since its not gonna be a racer dont bother looking for one. any 350 will do and it will bolt right in.

They are right in telling you put a 350 in there from anything. Yes the earlier Models had more HP before the goverment put all those restrictions on engines. Not going to race go with a 2 bolt main. You can buy from a junk yard and do some rebuilding on it yourself, or you can buy crate engines for as little as $1200 that will put out 250HP. Have fun.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
