    need help Motor buildup

I want to here some input from people that have build motors for your cars. I am needing some advice on a good street motor. I got the bad end of the stick with my motor build.here is what is in the car now but i want something a little more streetable.
    350 bored over .30 = 355
    10.5:1 Compression
Edelbrock Performer Intake with a holley 600cfm carb
    Cam Specs Edelbrock Performer Rpm
Basic Operating RPM Range: 1,500-6,500 RPM
Intake Duration 050 inch Lift: 234
Exhaust Duration 050 inch Lift: 244
Duration at 050 inch Lift: 234 int./244 exh.
    Advertised Intake Duration: 308
    Advertised Exhaust Duration: 318
    Advertised Duration: 308 int./318 exh.
Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.488
Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.510
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.488 int./0.510 exh. lift

    3000 Stall

The car is supposed to be about 400hp The Head number is 882

I want a good hp/tq number I am thinking about 350-400 hp and 380-up tq. My motor in the car know has been bored over .30 and has 10.5:1 Compression. I am not going to pull this motor so i need head, intake, cam, and carb advice. I want something that is going to be a good daily diver with these numbers not requiring a high stall like i said i would like to use the factory stall coverter. Thanks in advnace

Keep the cam duration at 215 or less at .050 on the intake side.Try to run 5-7 more duration on the exhaust side.

Summit SUM1101 cam. I have it, and it is a real puller. The rest is ok. The SUM1102 has not been that well recieved. The 1101 pulls better and is a little better on fuel.

The Summit 1101 looks to be almost stock.I think he is looking for a little more cam than this.

The timing is too short on either the 1101 or the 1102 to run either of them with 10.5:1 c.r., the motor will rattle like a can of rocks.

He's gonna need a cam of at least 230 degrees @ 0.050" and a cam like that won't work with a stock converter.

Son, you're gonna have to lower the c.r. to do what you want to do.

Oh and by the way, here's something that's a bunch of hooey
"Basic Operating RPM Range: 1,500-6,500 RPM"
Not for the cam you listed pal, no matter what kind of B.S. Edelbrock is puttin' out. It just doesn't work that way. Any cam you screw in the motor will have a window of operation of about 3,500 rpm's. So, your present cam will make power from about 3,000 to about 6,500 r's.

You might want to check out some crate engine options, could wind up being cheaper then locating and buying all the parts and paying for the machine shop bill.......
