Do some research--call the major cam companies (Crane, CompCams, Lunati, Crower), give the tech person your specifications, and have them give your their suggestion. Compare them and choose the one that is closest to the average as far as lift and duration go. You should find a good, reputable and experienced machine shop to work with you on machining the 350 block--boring, clearancing, align boring, etc. Get a forged rotating assembly and have it balanced. The machine shop will want the rotating assembly and the cam to be able to clearance the block. Expect to shell out around $3000 for the short block.Last edited by rumrumm; 10-18-2005 at 01:53 PM.

The first model car I built was a 32 Ford roadster by Revell in the mid 50's.
How did you get hooked on cars?
