You need to get the casting numbers from the heads to find out.
Once you write them down do a search for GM casting numbers or Gm head casting numbers.
Need to know more about your engine to estimate Hp. What size cam, what exact intake, Holley or Ed carb, bored?

A vortec head will have valve covers with 4 bolts in the center as well as a sawtooth pattern (3 triangles) on the front of the head. If the sawtooth is not present, it is not a vortec. You can see the saw tooth on the picture that is at the bottom of this article http://chevyhiperformance.com/techar...148_0208_vort/
Great to see your new post, Mike, and great to see CHR up and running again after several days of the Hmmm, can't reach this page.... Also good that you found an easy solution to your storage/access...
