    How to setup roller rockers

    Hey guys,
Never done this before so Im in need of a step by step process please. I have a set of roller rockers which came with some heads ive just bought, Ive fitted the heads but now have to setup the rockers. I have no idea on how to set roller rockers have set normal rockers before but. The rockers are supported on a centre threaded shaft with a wind down hollow bolt and then theres a grub screw within that housing, the camshaft runs normal pump up lifters can any one help me out
    Thanks steve

    adjusting rockers

If you have made no other changes to the the valve train, they adjust the same as the old stamped steel rockers, with the exception thet now you have a lock screw. I would however, pull all them apart and inspect the threads on the adjster nuts, and the allen bolts that turn down into them to lock them. Also check the tops of the studs for pulled threads, and damage caused by over zealous tightening of the locks

Thanks for that Im assuming that you simply adjsut the barrell nut down until free play is gone when cam is on its heel plus a 1/2 turn and then turn the internal grub screw within the barrel nut down to set the barrel nut tight, is this a correct assumption, Ive read on a couple of forums of people having to shim the main posts ect and couldnt work out why they would do this.
    Any response is appreciated Thanks
    Steve

I did assume that we were talking about small block chevy or ford style rockers, where the trunion of the rocker slides down over the rocker stud, the only thing to check there is that the trunion doesn't bottom out on the stud. this being the case, you should be all set
