HEI plug question
I have a 1982 Chevy K20 pickup with a 350 and a coil in the cap HEI distributer.
THe distrubetr is in but I cant figure out what wires plug into the distributer for the coil. There are 2 prongs one sideways and one normal. What plugs in here?? I cant find a wire with the 2 prong setup that matches . Does it really only need a one prong plug? Also just for reference what is the plug that plugs into the coil? WHere does that wire go and what does it do?

SO since I dont have a tach, stock or aftermarket there will only be one wire to plug into it??
Also, the second wire im assuming gos o the key/igntion switch.... Could I run a wire directly from the battery to the coil temporaril just to get it running?

If you're not running a tach, then you only need one wire. That wire should be switched by your key. Yes, you can temp it to the battery, but you'll have to pull it off the turn the engine off. Not a real good idea though, if you happen to have a problem at the same time (I'm imagining an engine fire and you can't get in to pull it ). Personnally, I'd temp it though a toggle switch, just in case.
On my HEI, I think the right terminal is the power (has a + on the housing above the terminal). No matter where you go....there you are!
