Rochester Quadrajet
I bought a Quadrajet carb. from Auto Zone. I ask for one to fit a 1968 Chevy C-10 pick up. with a 327 motor. The counter man said the 327,s in the trucks did not come with the Quadrajet. So I got one for a 1968 Chevlle 350 motor. But I have a vumce leak where the carb fits the intake. I don;t know what kind of car the intake came from. So I don;t know what kind of gasket I need. Is there a fit all kind of gasket or an adater or somthing I can use? Thanks, John. By the way, I thought all Quadrajets were the same, Are they not?John

Mike, Thanks for your imformation. The intake I have on the truck came off a 350 and it had a G-jet on it. So it is a G-jet intake. But there is a leak at the gasket. This makes me think there are differnt gaskets you can get. But I don;t know what to tell the counter man at the auto parts store. In a book I have it saids there are two kind of Quadrajets. One is a 4MV the other is a M4MC . But don't know if they are differnt at the bottom where they set on intake. Been messing with these old Quadrajets for years. Never ran into this issue. People at these auto shops don't really know anything so they are unable to help me. John.John

lay the gasket on the intake and then on the carb. and see if its sealing all the way around. if the gasket is sealing all the way around the out side it shouldn't leak.Mike
