    Transmission Dilemma......

ok, here's the deal: I have a '67 camaro with a built 400 small block. currently i'm running a beefed up th-400 in the car, but have been told that a powerglide would be better for drag racing. I am wondering if it would be worth it to spend the money to change the transmission. I'm planning to put this car on the street in the near future, if that makes a difference. I havent raced with this engine yet, but the car should run low-mid 10's on the foot brake. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

ok good, I prefer the 3 speed transmission anyway. Also, my car was built to run on a 1/8 mile track and currently has 5.57:1 gears. crazy i know. what gears would best suit this car in the 1/4 mile environment which i am now in?
