Vortec heads for emissions?
I see that both GM and Edelbrock sell intake manifolds with EGR provisions that bolt onto Vortec heads. I didn't think that the Vortec heads had the heat crossover passages. I assume that I'm wrong? I want to freshen up my engine, and the Vortec heads would be the way to go for my budget. I have a '79 Camaro and I have to do bi-annual emissions inspections here in Oregon.
Thanks,
Mark

With vortec heads you have to use an exhaust bypass tube plumbed from the exhaust manifold - or headers with an EGR adapter fitting - to the intake manifold.

Okay, I see that Hedman Headers has a header with the EGR fittings for a '79 Camaro. But, now I'm not sure about the A.I.R. fitttings for the header. Anyone able to give me some advice?

Headers are available with A.I.R. fittings as well. I'm not sure of the availability for your Camaro but you might try Edlebrock as they seem to offer a lot of emmissions compatible headers.
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
