    Chevy 283 complete motor ,1958

    I have a 283 chevy engine heads casting#s(8984520).
    1958 year.

Sorry to be a pain in the neck, but I need to know the date code on the back opposite the block number and then the number that is stamped on the pad please.

ummm, Vic, since you have the motor right there, how about looking for yourself. My crystal ball isn't working that well these days. Any numbers that I came up with would probably be invalid anyway. What are the chances this motor has the same heads that came on it from the factory after nearly 50 years ?

Looks to me that this part above was from an email asking the poster for the additional information. if he indeed has the engine in his possession, then the numbers would be quite apparent and easily accessible.
Instead of being part of the problem, be part of a successful solution.
