I'm still a 3 pedal guy, but I don't understand how a hi stall converter would lower torque and horsepower on a chassis dyno. Is the slippage that bad, or what????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

big_G1, what stall are you running. Stall converters will give you some lower numbers on the dyno torque and HP. The bigger the stall the worse it gets.

Thanks for the advice. I called Comp Cams earlier today, they recommended a very similar cam, XR280R. I ordered it today. Thanks for all your help, I'll let you know how it worked out.RAY

What are the plans with this engine? Prostreet, mostly strip, Hot street, daily driver(hope not) That 280 is a decent cam and might make some more horses. It on a 110 lsa, calls for 10:1 CR and wants a 2800 stall with 3.73-3.90 rear gear. You might wanna go to www.racingjunk.com and list those heads for trade or something. They are a little to much to try to tame down and produce decent torque levels. Horsepower will come but higher in the RPM range.
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
