    check engine light

My 2000 Chev PU (35 Vortec) has 130k on 'er and today the Check Engine light came on. She sits a lot but seems to run and start great.

    I don't have a code checker.

    Any common problems?

I would also try and un-hook the batt. for a little while and re-hook it.

Manual shows over 100 codes for that truck for everything from emissions to transmission and drivability. You need a scan tool. Check you local auto parts store. Some, such as Auto Zone, will usually scan codes for free.

It might be nothing, or it could be...?
